The History of Frankfort City
General James Wilkinson founded this city on the River of Kentucky in 1786. It is the capital of Kentucky since 1792. In 1862, the city was occupied during American Civil War by Braxton Bragg, a Confederate general. In 1937, the city experienced a severe damage as it was washed out by the flood.
